Remove the application processor from a donor board, clean, reball with a 0.3 mm stencil and reinstall. The board must boot and pass camera, touch and charging tests within 30 minutes.
Diagnose a no-power laptop, replace a DC jack and a RAM slot, then assemble and boot a desktop from loose parts with correct cable management.
Six algorithmic problems in any of five languages. Scored on correctness first, then time. Laptops provided, internet disabled.

Results are announced at the awards ceremony on the last day and published on the website the same evening.
Outside help, swapping materials, phone use at the station or unsafe handling ends the attempt.
